. Brijuni, Croatia
Famous for their scenic beauty, the Brijuni (or Brioni) islands, off the west coast of Croatia, are both a resort and a national park. Still relatively undisturbed, the islands are home to miles of spectacular coastline, and lush fields, complete with an incredible diversity of flora, fauna and animals from around the world.

Beyond the beaches, you will find plenty here to explore, including a zoo, pheasant farm, safari park and many archaeological sites. These islands were once the favorite vacation spot of President Josip Tito of Yugoslavia, and the place where he preferred to entertain world leaders and the occasional celebrity. Among those known to have been guests on the islands are Sophia Loren, Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton.

2. Formentera, SpainJust four miles off the coast of Spain's party island, Ibiza, lies a much quieter, less-trafficked sliver of Mediterranean paradise. With its long stretches of unspoiled, white sandy beaches and sparkling turquoise water, Formentera feels more like the Caribbean than Europe.

The first step to making a basic candle is to melt your wax. You should always use a double boiler, as although your oven will work fine this is the easier and safer way. Always keep a thermometer nearby which you can use to keep track of the temperature of the wax as you are melting it.

Once the wax is completely melted you want to add the dye if desired and fragrance as well if you like. You should stir and then let the wax dye melt and fragrance sink in for about five minutes. Then stir again until everything is combined together completely.

Now you pour the wax into molds, of which can be whatever you desire. There are many different sizes and shapes of candle making molds to choose from, and you should always let wax cool overnight in order to ensure it has completely cooled and will not ruin when you go to take it out of the mold.

The answer of course is yes in a way. You have bitten by the adventure travel bug and there is no cure. All you can hope to do is keep feeding the bug until you are too old and gray (hey wait a minute, I am getting old and gray myself) to keep it up.

But at least you will have plenty of stories to tell your kids – unless you let go of this rock face. I am thinking these thoughts because I just read an article called Adrenaline Nation in the April 2006 Outside magazine about the little town of Fayettville, West Virginia.

It is a preferred destination for vacation, as there are many things to do during a holiday in Alicante.

Airfares have also dropped, especially to Florida beach resorts. Average fares to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale are down 18 percent to $222 and $208 respectively, according to Bing Travel, the new Microsoft search engine that uses the airfare tracking tools of Farecast. And a recent online search for flights from New York City, departing Thursday, Sept. 4, and returning the next Monday, turned up many round-trip fares for under $300, including Myrtle Beach, S.C., ($155) and Toronto ($287).

As everyone knows Austria has a rich history. To begin with, one can visit the captivating castles of Hofburg and Schonbrunn in Vienna.
