My wife and I love to travel and when you have done everything there is to do in your own city, it's time to find something else to do. We have traveled all over Europe, but for now we can't go abroad because we have a six year old daughter and we don't want to travel too far yet, so we decided to go to Granby Zoo which is about a three hour drive from where we live. Granby zoo is located in Granby, Quebec about a one hour drive south of the city of Montreal Quebec, Canada.

Granby Zoo offers great value and fun for the whole family, as there is lot's to see and do and you can easily spend a couple of days at the zoo with all that it offers. One of the first things we noticed is how clean and modern the facility is. The government of Quebec helped the zoo by spending millions of dollars on upgrading the facility and it shows. My wife and I value cleanliness and the washrooms at the zoo are spotlessly clean and modern.

Once you enter the front gate, you will see a beautiful fountain for taking pictures, followed by a number of brass animals for taking photos as well. Near the front gate there is an overhead train that you can take to view the animals and scenery below. There are plenty of animals to view including Gorillas, Giraffes, exotic Birds, Lions, Tigers, Elephants, and much more.

One of our favorite activities at Granby Zoo is the water park located at the far end of the facility. The water park features a really fun Lazy River that's great for kids and parents, a heated wave pool, and a pool for small kids as well. The other great thing about the zoo is that you do not have to pay extra for the section that has a lot of kids rides in it. My wife and I like to take my daughter on all the rides that are available including a merry-go-round, a ferris wheel and lot's of other fun rides for small kids.

We enjoy going to the Granby Zoo so much, we usually make it an annual summer event to get away from home for a couple of days and spend it doing something relaxing and fun for the whole family.
